Question couple of questions with pics

1. while i was changing a rad hose, i found a connector not connected to anything. anyone know where it should go?

2. i also found no bolts in these holes (drivers side of the engine)...my question here is...what would cause the bolts to come out and is it dangerous to drive w/o them?

3. about how much is a new water pump and where should i get it at? i think that's why i keep overheating.

1. That is the condensor. It gets bolted to the slave cylinder with one of the mounting bolts.

2. The bolts you are pointing at look like they hold on the AWS solenoid. Not a big deal if they aren't there, but you might as well bolt it on properly.

3. You can get a new water pump at Mazda. About $50 last time I checked.

Mazdatrix is an excellent place, but I got my waterpump on Ebay from AtkinsRotary.com and saved quite a bit.

I was under the impression that #1 was a capacitor that helped take noise out of the electrical system. I know it DOES get bolted to the slave cylinder. To find that, look on the tranny on top of the bell housing. You will find a cylindrical like item with a rubber line attached to it... That should be your slave cylinder.

yes, as long as it, or the bolt is in good contact with ground (if the nutplate for the bolt is rusted or painted, it might not be a good ground)

yes, its sole function in life is to shunt to ground any EMF voltage spikes in whichever circuit it's protecting...there's also one for the igniter/coil systems
