The L plate differs because of the size of the light assemblies.

The 'vert has the trunk key in the plate panel and the plate lights are mounted to the body.

The coupe has no opening for the trunk key and the plate lights are mounted to the tail light assembly as well as too the body (the coupe helps mount its lights to the body with plate light bracket).

I believe the coupe lights cover the keyhole on the convertible.
