Question Counterweights

Does anybody run a N/A motor (or rotating assembly) with a TII Flywheel? I would like to use the TII drivetrain on a turbocharged N/A engine, but I'm at a loss as to what to do about the counterweight!

Thanks!,
Manolis

Exclamation Well...?

Aww, c'mmon! I know _somebody_ on the list has got the answer for me!

Specifically... I've got a 1990 N/A motor that i will eventually turbo (with a Haltech). With the higher HP, I will need (or maybe just want ) a TII driveline. Unfortunately, as you all know, the TII flywheel is different, so that would need to be used on my engine. Then the problem lies with the counterweight (which can be bought for the TII, or the N/A, but not for a combination of the two -- at least as far as i've been able to tell!)

Thanks!!!,
Manolis

Even though the T2 and NA motors have different size flywheels, the rotors are of the same weight, and so the flywheels are weighted the same as well. The front counterweights on them are identical. Just be sure you stick with the flywheel for the series motor youre running. Ex: 86-8 NA= 87-8 T2...89-91 na=89-91 T2.

IF youre going aftermarket, just treat your NA motor as a t2 of the same year and get the appropriate flywheel.

http://www.mazdatrix.com/b5.htm hypntnz is right again. I just added this url for your info. The counterweights are about halfway down the page with and explanation of the swaps that can/cannot be made. Also Kabooski has made a post on this counterweight issue.
