counterweight removal

i searched but the results i got really weren't specific so i'm gonna ask. the counterweight seems pressed onto the eccentric shaft and seems as though it would require a slide hammer or something to get it off. anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove it?

Yes, it's taper fit.
Bang the countweight with the heaviest hammer you got.
Wail at it like the fist of god!

Remember to keep the flywheel nut thread on to keep the counterweight from flying off and hitting you.
