Nope, S4 rotors are hevier, which is why there are different counterweights.

No.
Vehicles with *automatic transmissions* come with those rear counterweights.
No stock Turbo II in the USA would come with a stock rear counterweight due to the fact that they were all manual transmissions.

Now, here's the fun part...
Turbo versus non-turbo rotors are the exact same weight for identical years.
Therefore, any 1986 - 1988 FC non-turbo equipped with an automatic transmission would have a rear counterweight.
This 1986 - 1988 FC non-turbo rear countweight can be used on any 1986 - 1988 FC turbo using an aftermarket flywheel that requires it.
The same goes for 1989 - 1991 models...

the flywheel is the counter weight correct?
For a manual transmission vehicle, yes.

and flywheel weight dosent matter when chosing a counterweight the only differnce is s4 or s5?
Yes it does.
See above.

yes.. just forget all the other crap here it is cut and dry

ONLY automatics had rear counterweights

IF you buy a lightweight flywheel you need a rear counterweight

You NEED the counterweight off the SAME SERIES car

You have S5 manual trans so u need S5 auto trans REAR counterweight.

JDM T2's with Automatics can also be donors for this counterweight. If you have a JDM turbo engine with a flexplate, you can swap the plate for the light flywheel.

FD auto counterweights are also interchangeable with S5s, NA and T2.

The counterweights are countering uh... the weight of the rotors. (not trying to sound like a jackass)
So whichever rotors you have, that is the counterweight that you need.

So you'll need an S5/FD counterweight.

i called them and they gave me some bullshit excuse they said "oh we only offer the hardware with our complete kits if you buy just the counterweight you must purchase the hardware separate.. i was really pissed cause i had the thing overnight-ed from west coast and it cost 70 ****** bucks. im just really surprised at them because ive always had very good customer service when dealing with them but thats bullshit. i mean they had to know i would need the hardware the only reason people would buy a counterweight is because they have a aftermarket flywheel the need to install and the things are only 50 cents a peice for Christ's sake you would think they would send them just to be safe or at least say something about them....
so you really think i need to use red loctite? what if i ever need to change the flywheel?

You'll still be able to get the bolts out of you need to. The loctite is there just to make sure they don't back out on their own.

ok so after spending 3 hours trying to get the flywheel nut off i finally got it.. but i bought some bolts to bolt the flywheel to the counterweight they where made for a toyota corrolla flywheel and ive heard you can use them for the counterweight but when i put it all together the bolts were a little too long and they bottomed out on the rear housing and the flywheel wouldnt turn..ive heard of other people using these so whats the problem? im gonna try to put washers on the bolts to space them a little but i dont know if it will space them enough.
