could it be stolen?

First post!

whats up evryone. i've got a wierd situation. i've been in the market for a good reliable s4 rx7 for about a year now and this year i chose to take a computer tech course. to make a long story short, ever scince i've been going in to class which is a large half broken down warehouse in the middle of a industrial park there has been a gorgious gold colored tII sitting in the dark corner of the parking lot. it has a near perfect intearior and black mesh styled rims with a silver lip. on the dash in fromt of the speedo there is a note that says "low tranny oil, due for a tuneup" at first i thought it was just one of my classmates cars but i soon realized that it hasent moved scince i've known about it. it has a california plate on it and one of the tires is flat, i'm guessing its stolen and dumped? it makes me sad because it just sits there, especially when its exactly what i'm looking to buy. it made me even mader when one of my classmates ran into it with his POS pickup truck. what should i do? thanks and what a great forum!

Take it. Apply for an abandoned tittle and pay the tax for its "worth" and fix her up.

or you can call the dmv and have them check to see if it was reported stolen.

no matter how much you like the car it is screwed to shaft someone who paid for it out of it.

You can't just "take" a car because it has been sitting. Call the police and report the car. If the license plate comes back stolen, hopefully it will be returned to the original owner. If it really is abandoned, you *might* be able to get the title, but it will vary based on your local laws.

In michigan you can report the vehicle abandoned and it will be inspected and you can pay the value tax for the title.

I would run a carfax first. Go get the VIN and run it through carfax. If it comes back ok then call the DMV you should be able to fine the phone number in your phone book. If they can't help then call the cops also in the book.
