Unhappy Could this be the problem?

Can an improperly grounded wiring harness work fine for a while and then all of a sudden stop working? I installed a aftermarket headunit in my 87 NA and it worked fine until it was stolen and ripped out.........I made sure that the new headunit was ok.......but its not getting any power. Also any suggestions would be more than welcome.............I would like a short list of stuff i can try before i take it to a professional. PLease help..........the sound of the engine is sweet, but i gotta have my tunes!

Improper grounding can cause all kinds of strange problems.

As for your head unit, verify the wiring against the diagram. If it's all correct (check with a meter), then there's something wrong with the new unit.
