Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow. I should add that all the emissions are removed and the car only wants to start after a deflooding.

When I pull the plugs they are covered in fuel but they all seem to be firing..

So you have the ACV removed? If so then the car might have this backfiring problem as a net result.

Yes, but it has been removed since long before I bought it. The car actually never backfired up until the episode you see earlier in this thread. However the safc has since been removed and the regular ecu functioning properly.

However I noticed after sitting in someone else's FC that this car revs slowly. I don't know if it was because that car was n/a or what but my turbo never revved that quickly.

Probably got the trail and lead plugs on wrong.

Or the Lead plugs are not firing. Start the car and remove a lead plug wire from the lead coil and see if the car still runs. In other words cars running on the trail sparkplugs only.

I was poking around under the intercooler and saw a damaged vacuum line. I replaced it and the car idles great cold or hot and the backfiring was reduced- but it still backfires.

I pulled off both lead wires when it was running and nothing changed, so that narrows it down.

Still wondering though what usually results in a slow reving rotary? This thing has never revved faster than my miata much less that s5 n/a. Throttle response has always been pretty crap until you get high up in the range.

New coils, car idles fine now cold or hot

Still dealing with a moderate low rpm stumble followed by a 2 second freeze on power in 3800-4000, then a strong normal boost from there. I've noticed that after 4000 there is a small pop from the exhaust or two.

Wondering about my tps.. 7k ohms seems like an awful lot compared to the recommended 5 or so, I didn't notice any sudden dips when I checked it though.
