Could I disassemble a low mileage reman and reuse the parts?

Okay, I've got a reman in my 87 with less than 5,000 mi on it. I'm hopefully going to be buying an engine for really cheap, and am going to port it. Can I take all the parts I need out of my engine and swap them into the other, or would I have to buy new seals and everything, instead?

While you CAN reuse seals (as long as they are in spec) it is not always advised. You'll probably want to at least replace all the o-rings. Also, if you are going to reuse the hard seals, remember what position each was in on each rotor, and always check sizes/clearances to make sure they're within spec when reusing.

I don't want to take it out until it is absolutely necessary.
