could have been running lean?
i dont know if i killd my car or not...it an '88 13bt manual. I noticed a while ago if i drove at fairly high revs without boost it would occasionally miss. then i was tryna make it do it the otherday and I changed to 2nd and it just spluttered and stoppd. could the missing be a sign of running lean....it has a rich lean mixture ajusting thing and it was bout half way. if it was running lean what could have happened?? Ive'e removed the fuel filter and its pretty stuffed...fuel goes in normal colour and comes out black and cloudy...could this be somehow oil in the fuel filter?? I also removed all the spark plugs and cleaned them the were a bit carbond up but not too bad. I have put a little ATF fluid in the lower holes and turned it over a couple of times and left it sitting all day and night, will this help much? Could the injectors possibly have jus fouled with the dirty gas goin throught them?? would that explain the missing and then the jus spluttering and stopping?? Every now and then it fired when i was tryna restart it but it never quite got going....jus fired once then kept crankin again. this is causin me alot of trouble, i need my car or im stuffed. If anyone can help...puhleeease....thanxx in advance.

If you cannt get the engine to spark, then you may have lost compression...
....which means you have lost a rotor...
....which could mean you have lost the engine...

Anyway, if the ATF doesnt do the trick, then only a tear-down would prove helpfull...and of course, a new engine

thanxx, but its goin good now...it was the fuel filter ripped inside...and all the crap it had ever filtered got dumped into my injectors....new filter and cleaned injectors seemed to be the fix
I was so worried it was a seal problem, but no,
the rotors on the road again
