Corksport Type II arrived!

I got my Corksport kit yesterday. Positive points...Derek was very helpful and made the ordering process easy. The kit is very smooth...there are no ripples in the fiberglass like some of those cheap honda kits you see. The kit fits (I have only done a quick test fit so far) very well. I was supriesed, as I have heard about some difficulty fitting CS kits. Not the case with this one...I'm very impressed with the fit. The only negative point is that the fiberglass is rather thin. Then again, even thick fiberglass is going to crack if you hit something. I'll just have to make sure not to hit any speed bumps...as is the case with any kit. All in all, this is a great kit at a great price.

Not for now I'll be posting pics of the car when its done though. It started as a beater TII I got with a strong engine for $1000. It will be done in 2 weeks with:

-Full custom 2.5" exhaust
-2.5" TID with cone filter
-All emissions removed
-FCD
-Ported wastegate
-New silicone vacuum tubes
-Entire interior gutted and changed to black (from grey) with new carpet and headliner, as well as dyed vinyl.
-New black sheepskin seat covers until I buy new seats
-B&G suspension springs (1.5" lowered)
-New struts
-17" Konig Imagines
-Full CS Type II kit
-Fresh coat of paint

There are a few other odds and ends going in. Should be NICE when its all done...and its getting very close.

I've got that front bumper, and I get nothing but compliments on how it looks. If it's fiberglass, just be careful of that front end, it sits so low!

OK a little update...
I got the front on yesterday. Man taking that stock nose off was a BITCH! The Corksport nose lines up PERFECTLY and fits extremely snuggly. I'm amazed at the fit. I can't wait till the sides and rear go on...this thing looks MEAN.

Can you give us an idea of how thin is thin?
I've seen authentic R.E. Amemiya front bumpers, and they are about 4mm or at least 3/16".
Is the Corksport stuff about this thick?

Sorry for not posting pics yet guys...it won't be long. RETed, after installing it all, I noticed that the front bumper is actually not overly thin. It is actually quite thick in the areas that might be more prone to impact (such as the bottom lip). I would say its at least 4mm thick across most of the front if not more. The thin parts are the parts that literally hug the stock body panels on the sides and rear. The side skirts on the Type II kit aren't too incredibly wild, and they go right on top of the stock side skirts. The parts of the side skirts that are right up on the stock skirts are about 2mm in some places. Where it flares out a little, its thicker. The rear bumper (I got the full Kamanari replica rear) goes on top of the stock bumper and is like the side skirts. The parts that are farther away from the stock panels are thicker if that makes any sense. The very thinnest part of the kit is probably the little lip on the sideskirts that go onto the stock door sill. Those may be a little under 2mm. Overall though, this kit is NOT too thin at all.

I'm sure it's pretty much an identical replica to the actual borer piece. Although I can't speak of the quality of the Type II nose, I do have the Mazdaspeed replica front spoiler as well as the RE Amemiya replica rear type IV from corksport. The quality of the fiberglass is quite surprising...there aren't any waves in the pattern, it's impressively smooth. The mounting area of the MS front lip is quite thin, but the piece elsewhere is pretty beefy. I

What's the rear bumper you have? I'm seriously considering the Type II as the only kit I would put on my car... but I'm just not really fond of the flares on the rear bumper.

Although "toomuch4you"... his car looks pretty ******* bad ***. Wonder how many inches it's lowered.

Toomuch4U has Eibach springs on his FC. They are supposed to lower it less than an inch, though his looks lower than that to me. If my B&G springs ever get here, they should look pretty nice at 1.5" dropped. This is the rear bumper on mine:

Its made for the S4, since the Type II corner caps will only fit an S5. It beefs up the rear a little and surrounds the tire more than the stock bumper.

I don't have the box anymore, but I can tell you that all the parts were in one box and that box was about 5'x2'x2'. Corksport doesn't ship their kits via USPS or UPS, but via a private freight company.
