Why does it sound nice in the first video, and like crap in the other ones?

Personally I think having an oval-shaped muffler that is only slightly taller (and much wider) than a 100mm or so tip would be much better, since that way you don't loose 2 inches of ground clearance due to a giant canister muffler.

Yeah, that's why we recommend the 6" oval Boral XR-1.

Personally I'd rather have something that's more like a rounded-off rectangle versus such a thin, sharpened oval.

It looks more spartan and less blingy that way.

Sort of like this: http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c..._1972_92527888

except the tip should be coming straight out of it, and larger versus the size of the muffler.

(but that's just me)

I've heard the N1 and thought it had a nice tone to it. I love mine when it is sitting there idling because it sounds deep but the minute you give it gas it gets insane. I have had people roll their windows up on the interstate because it is so damn loud.

The Kakimoto R exhaust is also nice...

But the FC version might be dual exhaust.

edit: never mind, it's right-side and looks like this: http://www.kakimotoracing.co.jp/image_ZS302.html

does this exhaust have the JDM "Tilt"? i really like the look of the JDM tilt on my friends kouki s14, i think it looks good on stock or nearly stock (chin spoilers, OE side skirts, rear bumper end caps) bodys. i dont like it with body kits, but body kits are for pure race cars, show cars, and ricers only.

Edit: the other ones prolly sound better just the microphones of the cameras are prolly fairly poor and dont adjust well to loud and quick volume changes.

Nope. Comes more or less straight out the back of the car.

i used to have this one and it was the deepest i have ever heard. sounded really nice.
Are you using any other resonators? Or are you running straight pipe back to that muffler? I like the look of it, I'm trying to find a good exhaust for my 88 Vert, and I might just make my own.

I've got the xr-1 on my car and as soon as it's up and running I'll try to get some sound bites of it so all can hear this exhaust with a borla midpipe. Of course it will sound a tad differant because it's got a 4" downpipe but we will see how it goes.

I just ordered it. Will it still be really loud with a completely stock setup? (1988 GTU everything stock)
