To Corksport or not too?

Hey guys I think im going to order their complete "Type II Kit". It has all the things im looking for. Meaning that it keeps the original lines of the car, its doesnt alter the shape all that much and its affordable. And for the most part I think its pretty desent looking. Here are some pics. What do all you guys think? If ya have pics post them!
Thanks,
Brian

I love the front piece, and the side skirts are plain and simple, which is a good thing! But the back I dont favor very much.... Maybe it's something I could get used to but I dont know. You are right tho its waaaaay cheaper than that one other kit that everyone talks about , forgot the name, it's liek 1800 bux and looks waaay sick! But anyways, as far as afordability I guess you make a sacrafice. For the price I could get over the back piece. Good luck and send u some pics when you and if you put it on!

Why not just go with a S5 front end?

i think corksports border replica kit is a great kit, especially how the front end sticks with the s5 design but makes it a bit bigger, and a bit more agressive, with a moulded in front spoiler. its the kit im probbably going to go with if i ever decide to do exterior work to my car.

1fastT2///Have you thought about painting the Body Moulding the same colour? I did. Wouldn't think of going back.

Yes all the body work is getting done this winter. I will be putting on S5 moulding along with a S5 rear bumper and a fresh coat of paint.

Thumbs up on the whole kit, and the molding swap. Your car will finally have looks to back up it's power, look forward to seeing it!

The corksport kit looks great, i like the front and sideskirts. Good plan on painting your mouldings, that will help the looks out alot (dont shave them, ive seen it done and it looks lame). Good luck, your car will look cool. By the way, how much boost are you running in those 11.9 sec 1/4 mile videos???

I think it's one of the best kits that's available for the FC period...not to mention easily within the reach of basically everyone on this forum. It would be interesting if you shaved the side mouldings, but I'm kinda partial to the mouldings...it just makes a very distinct attitude on the car. But that's just me...good luck on whatever you choose, although I also agree about the rear end, but for another reason. I don't think it's very aerodynamic (I know...I'm an aero freak), it'll increase drag/turbulence at the rear end of the car and the air won't detach cleanly and cause a vacuum at that point which is bad. I'm still studying undertray design and how I can have some fun with the 7, but for now that's all I can say.

By the way...the front end and side skirts are VERY aero friendly , in case you guys care as much as I do.

I had origionally wanted to get that kit for my FC, but I got wound up in the performance aspect.

After seeing those pictures, I think I'm going to look into getting the kit again! Do you happen to have any head-on pictures of the rear? I'd like to see how those bumper covers look from the back.

Here's another pic of a car with that bumper, but it also has a Erebuni Spoiler and different side skirts. Ever think of getting another spoiler 1FastT2?

that car looks good..but it doesnt look right having shaved mouldings and then lines on the front bumper ...

1FastT2, will that rear bumper how it sticks down have any conflict with your exhaust since it slants/angles a little bit?

One word of caution. Corksport has terrible customer service. They are difficult to get a hold of and rarely return calls.

They will quickly take your money then sit on it for in my case 6 months with no updates or any attempt to provide status.

They even had the audacity to be upset when I demanded an update.

They did finally produce the part I ordered but what a pain.

Caveat Emptor.

Corksport is not a good shop to do business with.

Llew.

I originally wanted the KAMINARI kit, but it's no longer made

I've since gotten the Corkspot kit and I'm pleased with the results. The final test of course will be how it fits on the car.

Now if I can just find the rear bumper skirts that surround the exhaust tips ike the KAMINARI ones

Personaly I'm partial to the side mouldings myself, it is part of the "lines" of the car IMO, and the corksport front bumper is kick ***, as are the sideskirts. Your making an exellent choice
Personaly once I decide to get a kit, you know.. get the car running again and all that jazz, I'm gonna go corksport front and sides, then bomex rear. Very partial to the bomex rear.

If I'm not mistaken the side skirts on the yellow car are the same as the red just from a slightly different angle. Take a look at the side skirts on the Corksport site again (both are pics Border skirts). BTW...

Side mouldings 1
Shaved 0
~~~~~FINAL SCORE~~~~~
Side mouldings win!
