Cops can sure screw with your minds...

well today, i was just driving up a canyon road near my house like i always do. it's a two way road with a looot of twisties so it's just fun for me. i go up the hill n then i make a u turn bfore a side street at the top of the hill where i see a car coming. i then proceed back down the hill going in neutral to give my engine a break n i wasn't even goin all that fast or pushing it at all. when next thing i kno, i go thru a turn n after coming out of it, i see the red n blue lites of a cop car. the cop then tells me to get out of the car and into the backseat of the cop car while they search my car for drugs n alcohol n whatnot, none of which i do or have thot of doing. newho, they find nothing n they go on to lecture me on how i was supposedly driving like a maniac and how they had to race down the hill in order to catch up to me. a question that ran thru my mind would be why were they trying to catch up to me in the first place?!?! they didn't see me do nething wrong at all...so i may have been goin down the hill a little faster in neutral but i was in no way driving recklessly in ne way n they didn't see me speeding in the first place. this all just adds to why i think negatively of cops at times. they're just out to screw with ur minds at times n make you think that you did somethin wrong. only an hour or so after was i pulled over n had thot over the situation had i realized that they didn't really witness me doing nething wrong in the first place....

i'm pretty sure he wanted you to speed up cuz coincidentally, i've been pulled over for that too....the cop was so close to my rear bumper that i sped up just a tad to keep the proper distance when next thing i kno, the lights go on.

Around here the cops do that move at night, usually around where the speed limit drops. So they tailgate you, then when you don't drop your speed they pull you over. It's ironic that we can get pulled over for following too closely, yet the police do it all the time. What if an animal jumped in front of their car, and they hit their brakes hard?

That cop probably didn't have anything to do and felt like being an *******. Just wanted to search your car for no reason in hops of finding something to bust you for.
Why did you let him into your car? He had no reasonable cause for a search.

I dont really have the problem with cops tailgating or whatnot, but if im comming onto a main road and a cop is comming down it he will stop in the middle of the road and wait for me to pull out in front of him

Officers tend to use persuation as far as obtaining legal searches. I've declined searches and just got the run around, about how i'd have to wait for them to call in a dog and blah blah blah, so I just gave up knowing there's nothing in my car. Yea it's probably BS.

Ok, so if a cop is tailgating you. What would they do if you put on your blinker and pulled over?

Ok, so if a cop is tailgating you. What would they do if you put on your blinker and pulled over?
This happened to me last January in Waterloo. I pulled off of a side street onto a 3 lane, 1 way and gunned it (no other cars around so no one to endanger but myself.) Fishtailed a little. Felt good. Look in my mirror and there's a line of cars at the lights way behind me. 'Oops - hope there isn't a cop back there.'

Get up to my turn. Halfway down the next road (coming up to more lights) I see in my mirror a car turning where I just did. The lights ahead are red, I stop and this car stops behind me. White. Roof rack. Cop. So I'm expecting to get a ticket ro at least a verbal warning for my little stunt.

Light changes, I pull ahead, he follows. He's wasn't quite tailgating, but was definitely closer than normal. After almost a minute of this I figured, **** thi - let's get it over with,' put on my blinker and pulled up to the curb (this was a residential neighbourhood.)

Behind me, he slows almost to a stop behind, without pulling over to the curb at all. I just sat there with my blinker on and waited. Then he pulls up alongisde (on my left) and rolls down his passenger window.
'You stopping for me?'
'Yeah. It looked like I had your attention or something.'
'Nope. Just checking you out.' (gestures at computer)
I laughed, 'scused myself and drove off. He followed, turning off at the next lights.

So I was lucky. I'll take embarassing myself over Careless Driving any time.

Canadian cops seem to be a whole lot nicer than American ones. Especially state troopers. A friend and I driving to WVa in an Acadian were pulled over by state troopers in Pennsylvania. They gave us a ticket for going the equivalent of 140km/h. We were so surprised we didn't say anything. They said we could mail the payment in blah blah blah. Afterwards, we looked at the ticket and we're like, 'Just a ******' minute here - this car doesn't even GO 140!' We got fucked.

And yeah, it pisses me off, too, to see cops 'bending' the rules n' all that when they drive around. I'm often seeing cruisers going through lights that are switching from yellow to red, tailgating people, not signaling turns and lane changes. There was one cop on Saturday in Kitchener who was doing all 3 of those to get through traffic. No roof rack going. Nothing to suggest that he was answering a call. And driving like a c*nt. Watched another cop (a woman) make a left turn before the pedestrian (an elderly woman) in the adjacent walkway had reached the curb. The cop passed just behind the old woman, who was still on the roadway. THAT pissed me right off.

Guess I should start writing these things down when I see them and start reporting them, or shut up, eh?

ttyl,

I live on kinda like a figure 8 shaped neibor hood with one exit just down the street from me, when i was getting my licence like 2 years ago, a cop (one lives in development) drove right through the yeild sign and almost tboned my mom's car, then had the nerve to pull us over and bitch at us, it only took 30 seconds and my mom taking a pic of his car, halfway across the road where the yeild sign to shut him up

I got pulled over in my driveway a couple of years back coming from 7-11. I was driving my mom's 97 probe at the time. I pull up in my driveway and was searching for the garage remote. Happen to glance up in my mirror and see a cop sitting at the end of my driveway. I'm like what the hell? Where did he come from? About a min. later he leaves. I'm like ok, whatever. Finally find the remote about to open the garage here comes the cop again. This time pull in my driveway hit the lights and shines that spotlight they have on their cars at me. The conversation went like this....
Cop: What are you doing here?
Me: I live here officer.
Cop: Do you have any ID?
Me: Sure (Hand him my license)
Cop: What's your address?
So I recite my address for him.
Cop: Where are you coming from this late?
Me: 7-11
Cop: Do you normally go to 7-11 at 3 am?
Me: Yeah (Felt like saying its a free country)
Cop: Reason I stopped you was they're was a report of a car stolen in the neighborhood you took too long to get inside your house.
Me: Oh (Felt like saying. I didn't know I had to be in my house within a certain amount of time.)
He hands me my license back and leaves. Park the car in the garage and then realize that there is only 1 other car parked in my driveway and its my uncle's POS 81 buick century, that had 4 flat tires and was a 3 toned (nice shade of rust, primer, blue paint.) I dunno about the cop but i think the probe was nicer than the buick even though it was a ford.

My gf got sideswiped by a cop a few weeks ago. Then the cop tried to say it was her fault, but she was stuck in stopped traffic, and was stopped herself. Bad idea for the cop...her grandfather was mayor of the city we live in and where this happened. If there was any real damage, the **** would have hit the fan for that cop. That heppened to be one of the newer cops, who didnt know her, and that her grandfather was mayor. When the cop that hit her told the police chief about it, the chief was just like "do you know who that is?"

The cops arent paying anything on my gf's car. They decided not to pursue it further, b/c theres only about $150 worth of damage to my gf's car.
