cooling system malfunction

i have a problem with my cooling system, my electic fan doesn't work and there is a small leake at the top of the radioator by the coolant lever sensor. everytime i run the car the tempetre goes really high but the idiot light never goes on the thermostat is brand new and it opens just before the 1st line on the indicator. does any body know wut the problem might be? oo and both caps are good and all hoses are good... with no leaks... just the little one on the radiator

by electric fan do you mean the small one for the AC? or did you convert the big clutch fan to an electric fan?

Well, go to the coolant level sensor and disconnect its wire. Key to ON. Wait for..........say five minutes. The buzzer should have gone off by then. In fact it probably should have gone off under a minute, but I'm giving you some slack.

Buzzer not going off???? Probably a dead short to ground on that sensors wire........somewhere.

Stock electric fan won't come on? Pull the single wire off the fans thermo sensor on the thermostat housing. Fan should run when that wire is off. OR pull the EGI fuse. Fan comes on if that is done. Fan still not coming on? See if the plug is on the fan. Still not coming on? See if there is power on the fans plug with key to ON. No power on the fan plug? Find out why. See wiring diagram.

The COOLING FAN fifteen amp fuse powers the aux fan. It does not power the *control* of the fan. The EGI fuse, the most inboard EGI fuse, controls the fan. Pull it and the fan will come on if it's plug is on and if the wiring b/t the COOLING FAN fuse and fan plug is good.

Just a personal bitch, but I went too far on this thread. I have a distaste for little letters and no capital letters in a thread and a lack of periods etc.
