Cooling fan light?

So I was driving along(highway) and its the first time ever having the air con on for a significant amount of time. And then my "Cooling fan" red dummy light came on.

Is this the fan that's in front of my radiator?

How do I know if its working?

Also where is "too hot"? When the light came on it was just a smidgen higher.

And then whats too high or low for my oil pressure?

Also how come there isn't a "general" fixer upper thread?

Your coolant temp should be ~1/4, 1/2 is too high.. Don't run in that temp range for any longer than you have to.. Check your cooling system.

Oil pressure looks normal for that engine speed.

http://www.aaroncake.net/RX-7/tech1.htm Lots of good info there, for general stuff check out his buying an RX-7 guide.

I see, well again, that was with running the a/c.

But was the "cooling fan" light referring to the clutch fan or the electric fan?

Also Its and '87 TII. Forgot to mention that.

Warning light is for the "electric cooling fan."

The wiring diagram is on page 38 of the wiring schematic. The warning light gets its signal from the Cooling Fan Control Unit so your problem likely eminates from there but I might be wrong.

ughhh. 1/2 up on the S4 gauge is NOT a panic situation! Sure, 1/4 is "best" but 1/2 is around 195F. 195F is not bad! You are in no danger.

PS
verified with after market gauges and a standalone computer.

Excellent I thought I read somewhere It wasn't going to be horrible. I mean I know the stock gauges aren't the best to trust but the s5 temps were even worse right?

What Is a panic marker(like 3/4)? I want to use some tape and put "panic" above that line.
