Cooling fan light?

I never got this light comming on b4. The Cooling Fan Lights blink a few time while i was driving, it puzzled me alot. If blink every time i coast to a stop then it turns off, i check my temp. gauge, n was avg temp. So what is this cooling fan deal?

probably dirty contacts or bad solder joints on the fan conector or the idiot light cluster

There's a detailed way of checking out the Fan Relay and Fan Control Unit in the FSM. For a 86-87 FSM it's found in section 3 under Electrical Fan. If looking at a 88 FSM I'd imagine it's found in the Cooling System section.
