coolent spitting out reservoir?

coolent spitting out reservoir?

every time i drive my rx7 hard, i hear coolant spitting out the reservoir, i am thinking of getting a koyo radiator. do you think this will help?

no a koyo or any rad will not help because its most likley a blown coolant seal.
the hot exhaust gases are escaping into the coolant and super heating it causing to much presssure to build up and it has to go somewhere...also check your thermo stat but i doubt u will find thats the problem

nah, i would know if it was a blown coolant seal, im just thinking it could be my rad cap?

could be but unlikely .. when a coolant seal goes it dosent always overheat at first.

fill your rad to the top and run the motor with the cap off if coolant gushes out its bad and if u can see a stream of little bubbles its bad.

And make sure your coolant reservoir is at the FULL mark, not above, when warm. If the coolant level continues to rise in the reservoir are you periodically adding coolant to the rad? Could be that the hose from the rad to the reservoir has a small "air" leak that is preventing the coolant from returning to the rad as the coolant cools.

hmmmmm, how much psi should my radiator cap be, i have a 13 lbs one on right now, i think it should be 15 but im not sure, could anyone help me on this??
