Red face coolant sensor...air in the system?

My low coolant sensor is buzzing like crazy, for those of you who recognize my name...yes I'm still putting the car back together from the turbo swap/TID/new hose changing. At first I thought it was just a bad sensor, so I grounded the wire. Well I took the car for a test drive around the block, noticed the temp guage climbing, **** in my pants, turned off car and rolled into my driveway. It didn't get to the H but it was at the very top of the "acceptable" range. That was a closie.

When I did the turbo swap, I cut the lower radiator hose, because it wasn't coming off and replaced it later. During the swap I lost probably a quart or two of coolant. Well I don't know anything about the cooling system so I just poured in about a quart into the coolant resorvoir. Well the coolant is just above the max line and has stayed there since, yet the buzzer is still going off. This leads me to use my 18 year old logic to believe that there is a large amount of air in my coolant system that isn't allowing me to get much flow.

My question: what is the proper steps to flush the coolant from the radiator, and is my logic in diagnosing the above problem sound? I'll be so happy when I actually can drive my car again, thanks for any help.

p.s. coolant seals crossed my mind, but it's not gushing coolant, and it ran perfect before the turbo swap.

Drain cooling system, refill from the filler cap (either on the rad, or the engine, dependending on the car). Be sure to open the bleed screw, fill until coolant starts coming out the bleed hole, put the screw back, then top up. You may need to repeat this to completely fill the system.
