coolant seal test

i was wondering if anyone has pressurized the coolant seals with a tester without the engine in the car. Just pressurizing the water in and plugging the water out of the motor. That way can see the condition of the used motor

Most credible shops do this to every motor they build and you can also do this to used engines. There is a plate that takes the place of the water pump and either pressurized air or water are fed to teh engine and left over a period of time to determine if there are any leaks.
