Coolant in Oil

I was adding coolant to my S4 that had been drained by the first owner due to long-time storage, when I immediately checked the oil before the first start-up and there was coolant flowing out of the dipstick tube, and when I immediately drained everything the rad was empty and the oil pan was full of coolant. Does anyone know why/ how all that coolant got into the oil so quickly? Have not had time to pull the engine yet and just want some things to keep an eye out for before digging in. Thank you in advance for any help.

Sounds like an outer coolant seal failure.

Finaly found the time to pull the front cover and the front freeze plugs are perfectly fine so now I just need the pull it and tear it down the rest if the way. So much for driving by summer time.
