coolant lines from turbo -> block

Hi guys.

There are two coolant lines running to the turbo. one is on the passenger side of the turbo, and is easily accessible.

the other one is on the engine (driver's) side of the turbo. Is there a way to install the line when the turbo is already bolted to the manifold?

I hope so, heh. Otherwise i'll have to take the turbo off.

Anyway, thanks.

Victor

bump.

surely some of you guys like to work on your car, instead of discussing for the seventeenth time whether or not a twin-turbo FC has been created...

lol, hey man I know you always read my threads and stuff, I really which I can help, but all I can recoomend is that if you do have to take the turbo off, make sure you double check for cracks and play also check the gaskets or seals if you can. is always good to be safe than sorry. thanx man and goodluck

The only line I've bolted onto the turbo after it was on the manifold was the coolant line that runs from the block to the turbo. My car is a couple hundred miles away so I'm not sure if you'll have room or not. If you do have room, it'll be very, very tight and quite a bitch. Why didn't you stick the line on there before bolting the turbo back up to the manifold?

Heh. Cause I've never put a turbo on a car by myself :P I have lots of book-learning from reading this damn forum for a year and a half, heh, but not as much first-hand knowledge. (woops)

I think that with the stock compressor housing i may have been able to do it, but not with the Stage IV. So, I guess it's off with the turbo.

Hah, yeah that's definitely a no go. Hands on experience is still the best kind of learning in my book. You can read every thread in the FC archives and understand all sorts of theories, but actually working on the car and putting your knowledge to use gives you a more complete understanding.

Keep putting on and yanking off the turbo and you'll be a pro at it in no time

just pull it off. your not going to be able to get to it... its actually pretty easy once you do it the first time around, depending on what else you have under the hood thats in the way...once you know what exactly you need to take off and where, its a piece of cake.
