Coolant Level Sensor??
I need some help from someone,
Whenever I turn my car on for the last month or so the "add coolant" light on the center display comes on and buzzes and stays on til I shut the car off. I've checked the coolant in the reservoir and there is plenty in there. I would assume the coolant level sensor needs to be replaced but I don't know where the sensor is located or how to change it
.
Can anyone be of any help. Thanx.

I'm not entirely sure where the sensor is, but I do have an idea that might help you. It's possible that you have air in your coolant system. This means that your resevior can be full, but you can still be low on coolant.Try removing the bleeder plug from the left hand side of the radiator, and filling your system with coolant at the higher opening(the one near the air pump)This should remove any air bubbles you may have.Good luck, and hopefully that will do it for you.
Coolant level sensor -- it's the gismo that is in the center of the top of the radiator. It should have 1 wire plugged into it. Ground means you have coolant. Open, you get the alarm. If this wire got somehow disconnected, you get the alarm all the time! Good luck!

To continue with the previous reply, you can test the sensor by grounding the wire that you unplug from the sensor. If the alarm stops, bad sensor most likely, if not - probably a bad wire.
You probably already know, but............That overflow tank should only be filled to the hash mark down towards the lower quarter of the tank. The idea is that the water in the engine and radiator will expand and overflow into the overflow tank. Later in the day as the engine cools down it will suck the water out of the overflow tank back into the engine. If the radiator cap is defective or the rubber hose b/t the filler and the overflow is not sealed, the water will flow to the overflow tank but never back to the radiator at the cool off period. That means the overflow tank will keep gaining water as you try to correct the buzzer problem by adding more water to the radiator. Make sense? Yeah, make sure you bleed the radiator or you'll never get rid of the buzzard.
Don't know how old your car is, but I had a problem where the nipple by the radiator cap where the overflow tube connects got rusted, and there was a loose fit of the overflow tube. Kept adding coolant every few weeks when the buzzer would start coming on again. Had to replace the radiator cap assembly (it's plastic (Delrin, I think) now). That fixed the leak. May not be your problem, but keep an eye out for it anyway.
