coolant level drop on throttle up

on the '89 vert i just had a rad flush and other fluid changes and am worried they buggered up the rad flush ....or much worse.

my add coolant buzzer has gone off a couple times and i hope its just a few bubbles in the system. ... i topped it up yesterday and it fixed it ... then it went off today again. The temp gauge seems a little hotter than i'm used to ( its just a bit above half)

i searched the other threads and read the "overheated" write up . I opened the rad cap on coldstart this morning .... topped it up with just a dixie cup full and started the car .... no bubbles thank god , but when i opened the throttle, the coolant level dropped below the neck and then returned up with throttle off ...... this is not what the write up described as a problem ( ..... coolant overflows on throttle up ) .....

so is it I OK ???? ... and just a few bubbles to get rid of. ( we need a smiley for praying)

Does your car burn alittle coolent ya think? Mine does sometiems like fog sometimes justt alittle

Check your overfill for the coolent my dad added like a dixie cup sometimes when the coolent buzzer goes off since the level randomly drops and now the overfill is 3inches past FULL lol but the coolent neck dosent have any visible in it =x

It sounds like the hose b/t the overfill tank and the filler neck has a air leak in it. If that's the case, then water can flow into the tank but can't return because when the engine cools and the radiator cap spring lifts up, only AIR is sent back to the engine and not the water in the overfill tank.

So make sure that overfill hose b/t the tank and filler neck and if that is good, buy a MAZDA radiator cap and try again.

I have found with the plastic necks the lips to titen the cap down wear out. Bending the tabs in on the cap to make up for the lower surface contact prevent the cap from leaking.
