Coolant Leak Question Mark 2

Unless I'm mistaken the oil send unit (?) for the oil cooler is mounted above the exhuast manifold, can that leak coolant? Or am I leeking internaly and It's only exiting the engine from there?

Secondly is it possible to replace the gaskets between the rotor housings ( there are gaskets there right?) while leaving the actual rotors in place?

Okay so I'm feeling a little less dumb, the object in question was the metering pump...and the leek seems to be coming from just below it...can't tell for certain until I pull the engine though I'm afraid, unless anybody has any suggestions. Which I'm pretty sure I wont get until a more reasonable hour. :p

Theres nothing like buying one of your dream cars, just have have it become undriveble three weeks later. *sigh*

Maybe the waterpump gasket is leaking and running down beside the metering pump? Dont pull the engine until your certain what is leaking. Take the fan shroud off so you can get a better look. It may be something simple. You will feel like a dumbass if you pull the engine out, and it ends up being a leaking water pump gasket.

Is your vert a turbo swap, or still an N/A?

Thanks for the advice. I'll do that in the morning.

She's still N/A...Planning on pulling a TII from the junk yard porting and rebuilding it...This isn't my race car, so I'm not going to do anything crazy.

Good luck with it. Hopefully its something simple. Take the plastic belly pan off the bottom of the car if it still has it. That will make things easier to see too.

The Belly pan is long since gone. The front end is giving me more sightling problems then anything else. All these sight problems make me miss my poor 81 12A.
