Ok I just need to tap it a bit further then.

I tried a test fitting with the manifold on and it was pinching the hose. I assume that I did not tap far enough. I referenced that thread a few posts ago to see how far that was tapped and I think I know when to stop.

I'll find that teflon tape I have somewhere as well.

like a said in the thread, only tap it till you see about 7 threads left on the tap. don't go further, you'll mess up the threads.

if it pinches the hose, cut the nipple itself shorter. (cut 1 barb off?)

Alright I'll keep that in mind for tomorrow. I called it quits for today and I'll try to finish the tap tomorrow. If it is 7 from the top of the tap then I am almost done with this part then.

Hopefully there won't be any fitment issues, but we'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Just imagine that photo I posted earlier with that Jegs pipe coming out of it. I can really take pics right now because it is back together. I can photoshop something in the morning though.

In my haste, I forgot to take pictures of the end result, but I seriously have to thank those who provided the useful info. I was able to tap the hole deep enough and screw the new pipe in and I am thrilled to say that I no longer have a coolant leak. I've been driving around the past few days to see if everything was worth the work, and it was. Just do as everyone on here has instructed. I probably went ridiculously slow in the tapping process, but I did not want to leave anything to chance.

The tiny magnet was also an excellent tool to have to clean the shavings out. I just need to burp my coolant system and I should be set.

I had a bit of an issue with the threads, but it worked out fine. I thought it wasn't screwing in correctly, but after some work, I was able to screw it in just fine. I do with I could have bought the tap from that thread to use that, but I found a comparable tap from a local store to make the process much easier.

Doing this is great if that pipe is rusty and falling apart, or you want to block it off.

Thank you everyone!

The leak might be back, but I have to be sure it is leaking again. I might try a different sized hose. Will update what happens in a few days.
