Coolant leak

This weekend while working on a brake issue on my cousin's 1990 TII we discovered some coolant puddled up between the engine block and LIM. Ever since we got his car we have been battling coolant issues but thought we finally resolved them after the last rebuild. They system used to build so much pressure that it would rupture every place possible. Every single line in the coolant system has been replaced, new factory T-stat, new factory water pump, new factory rad cap, new Koyo and the car has a fresh motor (just over 1000 miles).

This is what we saw:

The car had been sitting for three weeks and that is when this had happened. That residual worries me, but I have never seen or heard of coolant leaking out past the coolant seal like this. I want to say it is from the coolant line right there, but there is no residual on that line at all.

Has anyone ever sen anything like this?

yep.

I was told its the O-rings in the LIM leaking. There are two of them and the LIM needs to be pulled to replace them (fun, I know) thats why I haven't done mine yet....one day.

funny, I am having a similar issue right now, and it happened after the car was sitting for about a week. I would say it would be the intake Orings for your situation but I have FD housings (they don't have intake coolant passages).

EDIT: Looked at the picture wrong, definitly not intake coolant related. Are you having any problems with that coolant leaking into the intake mani and burning coolant?
