Exclamation Coolant keeps overflowing, light and buzzer go off...ect ect

I have a 87 turboII and it ran GREAT until lately. I have a coolant problem...my coolant keeps overflowing into the tank and then spills out I have drained the koyo radiator coolant then refilled it and then ran it with the caps off until the level started to rise you know...but still same thing. Ever since then this is what ive noticed...overflowing coolant, coolant hosed are REAL tight feeling, the coolant that spills into the overflow tank has kinda of a gasoline smell, and there is new coolant on top of my lower intake manifold (right where it connects to the housings).

Ive heard alot of things from air in the system (which i took care of), to bad radiaror caps(new), and gaskets(???)

I dont know what to believe...if you would I would like to hear some feedback befor I take her to the shop.

thanks!!!

^ good point it could be a bad seal. Or have you replaced the radiator cap?

Ya bubbles come up out of the coolant "champaine bubbles" as put above but I only see a few but I have replaced the radiator cap both on the koyo radiator and on the top filler neck.

Do you think I should just put my money toward a rebuild???

Yep, bubbles in the coolant means that you are getting air from the combustion chamber into the cooling system, which means that the coolant seals are bad.

Ive got the exact same problem. Bad coolant seal. Itll drive like a champ until too much air displaces too much coolant and the engine will start to overheat. Rebuild time.
