Coolant?

I know I have heard to put 50/50 water/coolant in your car, but is it bad to put all coolant in? And do coolant leaks fixes actually work? Thanks.

I have ~80% water in my system. It just depends on where you live and how you drive.

I don't know about coolant leak fixes. I suggest you find the leak and actually fix it.

So you have to make a mixture though? Not all coolant? I live in FL so 50/50 is good or what? And about the leak, I don't think its too bad, but I am going to see if they have any products to fix it if I can't find it visually. Thanks.

The reason for using a 50/50 mixture is because the manufacturer produced the coolant so that when it is mixed 50/50 with water, the molarity of the mixture will be at the appropriate ratio as to maximize the increase in the specific heat and boiling point of the mixture. The increase in boiling point can be calculated by 100 degrees C + .52 Degrees C/ molartiy of solution.
