Convertible -- Worth it?
I sent an email to the guy selling this RX-7 on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...ndexURL=0&rd=1
He is actually going to be in my city this weekend. I was wondering if it would be worth it to offer $2K for this car and see if he will bite. The body work doesn't worry me (got a friend that does great work and will give me a great deal), but the 160K worries me on all original engine.
The only thing he told me about the car is that the transmission is slow when cold but fine when warm. Should I worry about this?

get the compression numbers if your interested - that's the final sayso on how much you should offer. I didn't list that one in my weekly wrapup because of the price to mileage.

Even $2k was way too much for it. It needed body work, interior work, all the center caps ($95 each new) were missing, the tranny was starting to fail, and with that many miles on a series 5, I doubt it had many more left. If that car were free under the condition of getting it back in shape, I still wouldn't have taken it.
