convertible vs. gxl/tII seats

are the lower portions of the vert and gxl/tII seats the same? i know they have different headrest (duh), but the bottoms look similar. the reason i ask is i am looking into re-upholstering my seats, and leatherseats.com, has a reupholstery kit for the vert but not the coupe.

wasn't there a company in florida that made re-upholsery kits for the fc? what-ever happened to them?

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The lower section of the Vert and GXL seat cushions are the same, but the Turbo seats use different cushions.

The back section cushions are all three different, but again the vert and GXL cushions are simular enough that you could probably use the vert seat covers (except the headrests).

what are you planning to do?
10AE's have black leather seats don't they? (i think...)
One idea would be to go to ebay and search for rx7 seats lol... you'd prolly find something...
If you want stock seats that look good, I'll sell you one GXL seat or two of the base tweed seats.

Upholstery shops don't ususally make kits, but I'm sure they would be happy to rebuild, recover you seats. The seats for my Z cost me 450 plus material. Kinda high, but those seats are a lot more complicated than the 7's. Just price around the shops in your area. If that doesn't work, then try the mothers and grandmothers that like to sew. The second gen seats have fairly simple patterns and shapes in the coverings.

thanks. i am looking to recover the gxl velour seats in leather (two tone, leather and suede middle). locally here in new jersey, the best price i could find was 1000.00 for both seats. i could get leather myself and find some one who can sew. anyone know how much leather and suede it takes to cover both seats (square ft, yards etc)?
