convertible top problems...

I have a 1991 RX7 Convertible and I am having trouple with the electric top. Does anyone know if I can turn it off and just put it up manually?

yes u can i had a 91 convertible and decided to make it a t2
but when time came to drop the top i forgot about that it wasnt that much of a pain electrically i just wanted to be manual.its easy just unscrew the 2 bolts on each side of the solenoids.

if the convertible top motor is bad/going bad - you can have it rebuilt. There are several companies online. Do a search on yahoo.

I found this REALLY REALLY helpful when my convertible top wasn't working. Turns out, it was just some egg carton foam insulation interferring with the motor on one side. Moral: don't rule out the obvious, but here's a link to the manual with directions on how to put it up and down:
