Cool Convertible roof problem

Power roof on my 91 convertible won't work , it beeps when you operate the switch but does nothing , i have pushed in overide pins & am operating by hand , do they have limit switches on the handbrake or gear lever ? any one help ?

I know that the parking brake has to be engaged for the top to operate- but I believe that if it were detecting the brake as not being set, it wouldn't be beeping at all it simply wouldn't do anything.

The handbrake must be engaged in order for the top to function. It will beep if the handbrake is not set.
