Convertible question - Getting rid of the flashing AIRBAG light

I installed a 3rd party steering wheel which doesn't have an airbag, so the AIRBAG warning light keeps flashing. Is there any way to override it? Aside from installing the OEM steering wheel back, that is...

Thanks.

You would have to unplug the SRS modual to stop the light from flashing

Ok, my vert came with an aftermarket wheel so i had the same problem. I soldered the two wires that go to the airbag together. If the ecu sees a break in the wire it flashes the warning. You can conect them at the wire for the wheel or below the dash where the cable to the airbag conects.

I still have my OEM steering wheel, but this happens every now and then, Flashing 6 times every 8 seconds. I am already in Limp Mode and about to send the ECU off to get fixed. Just wondering if this is a cause of something else?

It's really easy to remove the Airbag Module and Backup Battery. They're behind the dash right by your left knee. There are two teal boxes with Ford logos on them. The small heavy one is the battery and the larger one right next to it is the module. Remove both of them.

The wires to the battery are also good if you need power for anything, since it is a 30amp circuit.

I did not get rid of the flashing however, when I opened the idiot cluster to fix the clock, I placed a piece of black tape on the square for the airbag. It still blinks but I don't see it.
Just a thought!
