yea-huh, because the coupe's roof is waaaaay heavy?.........

Why do you need a hardtop anyways just out of curiosity?

I would use sheet metal since this will be a custom affair and you don't intend on replicating them. Making a piece, then moulds, then the part in fiberglass will cost you an arm and a leg and when your done not to mention be a huge time investment. May as well have used two $20 sheets of 20 gauge and some mig wire....

sigh. I KNOW you searched this topic but the reason why it didn't yield anything was probably because it's spelled convertIble and not convertable. A hard top for the vert is like breast implants for a girl with natural DD *****. Costly, useless, and if done improperly can kill you.

I am not sure how well it will work, but to could cover your top in plastic bags and then stretch some fabric over it and cover it in fiberglass. When it dries, coat the inside in another layer and sand it to fit well. Paint. Throw some rubber on the edges. Get some latches to hold it down. Build a strong cage that fits inside and you are all good.

im sorry to say but while asking questions like this i highly doubt you have the skill level to make it in to d1 so i dont think the hard top thing is going to be an issue. my .02

just throw some resin in your soft top and when it hardens waaaallllaaaaa Hard Top hahaha. If they said it could be any material as long as it is hard then you are all set hahaha. But if they say know then you have a completely worthless convertible top.
