Question Constant Beep from Alarm When I Lock my doors???

I bought a completely stock 90' RX-7 GXL 2DR Coupe about a year and a half ago... No mods whatsoever... and for about a year when I locked my doors the alarm would beap once and the security light on the center console would light up and I shut the door. About 30 seconds later the light would begin to flash and I knew it was armed. This is the manufacturer's car alarm. Well after a new stereo and a 1.1K drive home I locked the doors and a steady Beep...Beep...Beep... Beep would sound until I shut the door. And I noticed the Security light in the center of the console doesn't flash anymore. I thought it might be a fuse but I've checked all the mains and all in the engine but they all looked good. Not sure why it's malfunctioning. It's not that any part of the car is open either because I know if your hood or hatch is open it will not arm. The only only only thing I can think of is I installed a New stereo/CD player using all the correct wires according to a Haynes manual. Stereo works great I pop no fuses. Is it that the old stereo had a security wire that needed to be connected in order to make a complete circuit? Any help would be wonlderful.

No, there is not a security wire for the radio.

Did you have the door panels off?

Icemark: No the door panels were all on. I did take them off to fix the door lock but it was working fine after that still. It seemed to go after I hooked up the radio.

Jinx22630: That never occured to me. I'll try the dummy lights. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the Help guys!

Off the top of my head I would be checking the inner door latch/lock. That is what arms the system. If it is broken or dirty it would not arm, keep arming- disarming- arming- disarming, or would trigger intermitently.

Its either than or something like the triggers for the hatch or doors or hood or ignition key sense is not working correctly.

The dummy lights won't keep the system from arming unless they have gotten wet.

Icemark: Come to think of it in the early stages of fixing all the little problems with my car I did a lot of removing and putting back on of my door panels. Then on the long driver home I bet something came loose. I'm gonna look at the whole alarm system itself and see where all the sensors are and try each one. Thankyou for all your help !!!!
