Computer Compatibility Between Years

Hey everyone this is my first question that I havent been able to find through searching but anyway I have an 88 GTU and i blew a coolant seal. My roommate who has an 87 is getting rid of thier car and i bought the engine from their car and i was just wondering is it possible to use my egi computer from my 88 or will i have to swap that out of the car as well since ill have the harness from the 87 motor still attached? I just wasnt sure if it would make a difference because i thought that the injector impedences could make a difference for the computer. anyway im doing the swap today after i get back from work so any help that is offered would be well appreciated. thanks in advance.

As covered many times (please use the search function found in the upper right hand corner of the page before posting) ECUs are only compatible based on series as defined by the first three digits...

So a N326 ECU could be replaced with a N327 ECU, but not a N333, or N370

Conversly a N332 could be interchanged with a N333 or a N338, but not a N327 or N350 or N340.

As another example, normally a 86-87.5 non turbo coupe uses a N326, while a 87.5-88 non turbo coupe uses N327. since the first three digits match they would be interchangeable.
