Compression testing

I want to see if I can find a good motor at the junk yard that I can replace mine with. How will I know if the motor is in working order? what should the compression be?

Compression testing a motor is not the tell tale sign of a good motor... a compression test will not show you that the oil control bungees are toast...

Always pick a car that has body damage. Hardly ever pick a car with no body damage. That's a general rule. Common sense thing.
