compression test on street port

well i tried to do a compression test on a t2 with new housing and a street port i got three even bounces, but they all were like 60, when i pulled out the spark plugs and placed my finger over the trailing holes and had my wife on the ignition it definetly did not move my finger, but they were all even. also i remind you this car has only been started twice since the rebuild and today could not get it to start at all, plenty of spark, also notice when i jumpered the fuel pump it never cut off it just kept trying to pressurize the system. damn i have no luck with this car. do you guys think i probably was ripped off on this rebuild

I don't think so ... they are a bitch to start when they are just rebuilt. I had a hell of a time with mine for the first 200-300 miles. A fuel pump cutoff switch is a MUST! Pull that jumper wire out of the fuel pump .. as long as its working it should be good.. do a full unflood procedure and try a little srtaing fluid to get it to start .. that compression sound a little bit low, but had to say considering its not even close to being broke in .. I had low numbers when I was worried about my rebuild also (I rebuilt it myself, thats scarry no one to blame) Do A search for my name .. and look for some of my created posts on getting my car started (it was only a few weeks ago) I went through the same thing ... I got some great sugestions and now its perfect runs like a beast!

G luck man, and if you have any perticular questions just ask them .,. chances are I have been there already, or I know someone has.

nope, depending on the condition of the rotor housings they might take a while to seat and cause a good compression test result. I gained 20hp in the first 5 miles of driving my rebuild (which I did myself) and then the following 300 or so showed a significant improvement beyond the initial gain.

I was quite concerned when I pulled my car out of the garage on its new motor because of how gutless it was at first. Two thousand miles later I kick the crap out of most anything I line up with and everyone thinks I'm turbo'd.

Just get her running for a while and the compression will build.
