compression test done correctly?
i bought an 87 turbo II and the guy said the motor was blown in it. but i wanna make sure cause it has new plugs, new oil filter, and the motor even looks new. dang i'd be lucky if it actually runs. anyway, i've never done a compression check on one of these cars before and not sure if i did it right. i took out the plugs closest to the bottom of the motor and the green injector fuse that's in the engine compartment. both bottom plugs were out at the same time.
okay i screwed the compression tester into the front one 1st and had someone turn the motor over while i watched. got up to 95 on the gauge. unscrewed it and put it in the rear. when the motor was turned over i heard a loud whoosh of air coming out of the front plug hole (hmmm, didn't do that when i had it in the front and the rear was open). well with the compression tester in the rear, it stayed at 0.
am i doing something wrong? i thought about the uh, ecentric shaft being broken but then the front wouldn't have any compression right? i dunno. why would the front show compression but not the rear? maybe the 95 reading is low, but it would be anyway if it was a new engine right? anyway, thanks for any info cause i'm not sure if i'm doing this right. and i've never dealt with these motors before

95 aint that bad. 0 means rotor pooped. Start looking for a motor. Luckily alot of importers of used Jspec engines have t2's. I just blew my rear rotor on an NA and its hard to find.
