Heavier wt oil will only improve compression if your engine is really worn. It fills in the little grooves and scratches between the combustion chamber wall and the rings (piston) or apex seals (rotary) better than the thinner oil. The benefits of heavier oil are usually better oil pressure with less pressure loss when hot. It also (supposedly) slows down leakage and burning.
