compression question

compression question

guys my cousin just checked my engine's compression and he got 60 's on both rotors is that right it turns on instantly and still has power is it true

60;s on both rotors is bad. is he using the mazda testor or doing it the ghetto way?

two questions pls help
1-wich of the 2 plug holes do you check it from
2-its not a mazda testor so he it said 60 then 90 but when holding the pressure it says 60-60-60

using a mazda tester is the most reliable way to check compression. when you are checking on a rotary you are checking the compression on each rotor face. 6's are bad. it may still run, but its done. one of our race cars ran(poorly obviously)and we checked and got 4's and 5's...thats done. like icemark said in the last post, anything below 8's is not good stuff.
mazda compression checkers are $$$ so have it checked at a dealership to be sure.

yeah but what spark plug hole do you test it from the top or lower one and 60-90-90 psi good

no its not 60-90-90 its 60-60-60 but it goes up to 90 if u dont hold the chek valve down. but i got those numbers by chekin the trailing holes not the leading so he's askin if it matters which holes i chek it with?
