If you want to remain in a "safe" zone, you just can't boost an NA rotor engine as much as the turbo rotors, due to the compression differences...

realistically, you can sell your NA and add it to your 2700 to get a Turbo Rx7 that you don't have to worry about blowing up.

If you don't want to blow **** up, don't waste your money.
The stock ECU is CRAP is trying to control something like this, and I don't think you can afford the $1,000 minimum + another $1,000 to get it install and tuned for an aftermarket EMS ECU.
Please folks, don't argue with me on the stock ECU - go find BDC.
You see, this **** gets expensive in a hurry.
And, no that GReddy turbo kit does not fit on your non-turbo FC.

It's been compressed into 3-letter acronyms to save time, lol...

Yes I wonder if you could run S5 TII rotors in a N/A block and turbo charge it. Has that been covered?

Sure, you basically just built your own Kouki FC turbo engine block with inferior internals.

Turbo swaps have been covered in other post, but in my oppinion you really should just get another car that is already turboed. it is way more work and money then you are going to want to do/spend. as you have to convert the engine, wireing harness, computer, tranny, driveshaft, rear end, axles, ect...
Just try to find a Turbo II
I am not saying it cant be done, my best friend converted his N/A over to Turbo II but it was a lot of work.

oh yeah, and to answer the original question.

86-88 N/A = 9.1:1
89-91 N/A = 9.7:1 (i belive)
86-88 Turbo = 8.5:1
89-91 Turbo = 9:1

whats the problem with turboing a s4 if the s5tII had the same compression!? i thought it was lower.
on a similar note, would 3mm seals be considered decent for prepping an s4 motor for turbo power?

Close. The S5 N/A and S4 TII are right. The S4 N/A is 9.4:1 and the S5 TII is 9.0:1.

Don't waste your money. It's just unnecessary in my opinion.

As far as turboing an NA, I see no problem. Just little issues like LIM clearance and such. Leaves it up to you to do the figuring instead of buying bolt-on stuff that's been working on the original turbo cars forever.
