can i use a normal compression checker on a turbo II. if so what should it read between to let me know the money is good or not. they engine was started about 4 months ago and it had trouble staying started. didnt wanna idle by itself. but the guy that had it had the intercooler half off. so i dunno if that made a difference. it also smoked pretty bad. but he had said he had but atf in it. what exactly all does atf fix?? rotors,coolant seal,oil seal??

 

atf is supposed to clean carbon build up, if left sitting in the engine for 24+ hours. Some people also use it to start the engine when the car floods.

 

Yes, you can use a CR on a rotary. Same thing actually: pull plug, put in nozzle, bump car (with the EGI fuse out). It should read between 7,5-9, or 80-90 psi for you US guys.

If a car has been sitting for a long time, smoke is normally expected....but not for more than 10 minutes. If there is ATF in there, then add 5 minutes for the ATF to clear up....
