A common dissapointment
A common dissapointment
Alright, well I know this topic comes up rather often(wow just found nearly the exact, but different post similar to mine about the heater hose needing replaced https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/hose-heater-core-leaking-496446/ ), though I would just like some of your thoughts.... more like advice. I have gone through the searched results, before you skip ahead and tell me to search, because I pretty much know what I should do.
This started about 3 days ago, after having the car since July of last year.
Long story short, my car( 1988 N/A SE, with 125,000 miles) has a a few coolant leaks. The heater hose is leaking very badly, and the radiator cap will sometimes leak coolant. Obviousy I have to replace some things. My question is... is this a good site to get some of these parts from?
http://www.zoomautoparts.com/RX7--002_1988_parts.html
I will most likely be replacing all the essential parts, like all the hoses, etc. I plan on working on the car this weekend. I will not be driving my car until I get this fixed because the leaks are so bad, that on my way too school, and back(only like 1.5 miles from my house) the temperature gage shot all the way up on my way home, so I drove slowly home, not going over 2.5k RPM. Yeah, yeah whatever it happens all the time, right? I am just dissapointed that this has all just suddenly happened within a few days of this week, because my car is a N/A with 125,000 miles. ( I realize that this happens, but I just thought that this would have happened further in the future.)
Oh and if you're wondering, the first day that I started to notice the leaks, it wasn't very bad, so I put in more coolant, hoping it would be fine for at least a few more days. Wrong. Because of the leaking coolant, my radiator started smoking as well. Alright, no more until I fix it.
So, to restate my question, is that site good for the parts I need? It probably is and is a stupid question, but you never know these days. Thanks for reading, despite the high amount of coolant leak posts.

I hope you didn't overheat it driving home with a buried temp gauge....
Does the car spew coolant into the resivoir on start up when the motor is stone cold?
as far as the site goes - I've never bought anything from there but for stuff like a rad cap and hoses a part source or autozone or something along those lines will be a more immediate route as opposed to waiting days for shipping just to save 10 bucks

you pegged the temperature gauge??? That's gotta be really, really hot man. Operating temp is like a quarter of the way up on my 88 n/a. Maybe you should check for blown seals when all this is taken care of.
Yeah, I probably will. And the needle didn't go like all the way to the peg, but like a little below the H line... which I know is still really bad. But I wouldn't doubt a coolant seal is going... damn.
