JJEEEEEZZZ what a thread!!! you have to read "Skeptic of Banjo Bolt/PD Elimination Mod"

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...21&page=1&pp=15

That thread is incredible. Took me almost an hour to get through it all. You guys that debate the issue really get into it. I am glad that I found that "article" I have a ton of answered questions about that mythical, magical PD thingy. I am not sure which way I'll address my needs but at least I have both sides of the issue to make my choice.

I only wish that everybody remained calm and didn't allow the other side to inflame. I am not saying either side was wrong rather. I respect both sides and I have a need for the guys to get along as we are kindred spirits in our RX7s.

Maybe it should be looked at like this. We all need to get across a large body of water. Half build a boat while the other half build a bridge. Neither was wrong....just different ways fo getting to the destination. I am not simplifying the debate to be as easy as that, just would like the two sides to have the respect for each other.

someone should really test this... someone with too much time and money on their hands.

test = buy 2 cars and replace all fuel components and rebuild the engines all exactly the same 1 with a new PD and one with a banjo bolt. then run them the same exact way and log the results. that would be the only way to determine who is correct.

ps. im still on the side of using the bolt ;-)

A scorpion asked a frog if he could help him cross a stream.
The frog answered, you're a scorpion - you will sting me if you hopped on my back.
The scorpion answered, no I will not, I need to cross the stream.
So the frog happily obliged and allowed the scorpion on his back.
As the frog was halfway across, the scorpion stung the frog.
The frog in horror turned to the scorpion and said, why did you do that for? Now we will both drown and die.
The scorpion turned to the dying frog, sorry I'm still a scorpion.

check Ted's site, the list of parts that the PD takes out if the engine does catch on fire is a hell of a lot more expensive than replacing a few components that not having a PD could harm.

i am planning on running the banjo bolt once i do my injector cleaning.

much more peace of mind knowing that there is no weak point in my fuel system anymore, i find myself checking for the smell of fuel every time i pop my hood and that is not something i want to worry about.

why does everyone think there rx7 will catch on fire? you know our cars are 15+years old. the bladder inside the PD is bound to dry up and crank over time. Why blame this on "the PD its self" when infact its the internals that are old. Get a new one and be set for another 15 years. and with this banjo bolt? this is ghetto. I dont know what fuel pressure is going through the fuel lines but i can only imagine that there is some fuel pressure lose doing this. My car is 17 years old. at the PD worked great when i removed it. I know for a fact that it could go for another couple years. And if I replaced it. It would probubly last just as long

I could go on forever. my s4 pd still works great. the screw fell out for a LONG time but iu just replaced the screw and all was well. I now have a S5 PD cause i installed a s5 rail onto my s4 block. and 100% dout I will have any problems with it.

and dont call this a "MOD" its not. just a ghetto addition.

If you're really that paranoid about the stock PD, go buy an aftermarket one.

I'm installing my banjo bolt in a couple of days when I get it

90% or more of FC owners are poor. Of course I just pulled that number out of my ***, but I believe it to be true Banjo bolt = 7 dollars, or pull one off another car. PD costs 100+ new. Hmmm choices choices. I'm going cheap
