my car is still an auto, havent converted it yet (will do soon) but i noticed, after all the mods so far (complete exhaust/ port/intake) its still slow accelerating, and doesnt really pull very much or at all from a dead stop, is it the automatic trans soaking up the torq or whatever? or what

the car will be much faster off the line with a manual. And the manual is alos a good bit lighter. I had the same. But I now have a 4.30 GTUs rear differential but have not got a chance to test it out yet. The auto tranny along with slow 3.90 gearing will never let you accelerate quickly. And after it is all said and done; it is an NA vert which is the slowest FC made. But they are damn fun to drive!

 

Yeah, your vert won't be a drag superstar, but with a stick it will be a lot faster. The auto's gears are just way to tall for any serois acceleratoin.

yes the vert is hella slow with an auto, the only thing i got left to do is swap diffys, but there is one big *** diff. between auto and 5-speed....
