come on rotory mechanics!!! please
i just did a block swap in my 86 base. it was put together well by hpnotyz7. im trying to start adding mods to the motor. i have done full exhaust, electric fan. 6 port sleeves removed,tb mod. and now im trying to do the timing. does the yellow mark on the pulley stand for coil pack number 1? and red for the trailing? also how many degrees can i go safely without blowing stuff up. how do i know how many degrees i am going when i got the timing light on the pulley and ready to adjust the crank angle sensor? thanks

When you install the crank angle sensor, pop the cover open. Align the gear and see where the pointer is at. When you install the CAS, make sure it's as close to where the pointer was when you drop it in the engine.
The yelllow is leading and red is trailing. Clip on the timing light to the T1 and L1 to check timing. You don't need to retard the timing if it's stock and not running NOS. It's not necessary. If you plan to after proper break in, retard the timing about 2 degrees.
