Your point is well taken, and I agree with you.
NOW: go fishing, shark hunting, surfing, drive your car or something, to relax.

Yet another reason to switch over to Zenki/Kouki naming conventions - try and search for those keywords!

Yep, you're right...
I guess I needed to release some pre-Super Bowl tension.
Go Seattle!
Oh wait, they are not even in the Super Bowl!
No wonder I'm all tense...

Getting all my laundry washed in the next hour
Going shopping for all the Super Bowl party food - gotta make my famous bean dip for Sunday
Wish I could so those things in your list!

More is not always better.
38000+ users prove that.

Its kind of like a slum. There is no room for all the filth to go anywhere, so you basically swim in it.

Just so people know, you can search for short strings like FC, by putting a * attached to it.
eg, to search for S5 type "*S5" (without the quotes,, jeez! lol)
It's a wildcard, and it'll return "series 5" and "S5" etc.

ANd BTW- I dont' wnat to raise a stink, but I agree with this thread... if you want to put something that doesn't make any sense in your own subject line, go right ahead, but you won't get anybody who happens to have your solution reading it because they don't see anything related to it at all, and don't open it!" You're problem.
That's the bottom line.

Well I (and the other mods) could re-title the threads, but there are a couple issues that then pop up because of that

I agree that a lot of thread headings are too vague.

I have to edit subject lines in the Classifieds section, but I also keep it to a minimum.

People posting in the wrong sections, or are completely non-specific.

Makes me feel like the RX-7 club janitor at times. Some times, I'm a mod,....other times, I'm a janitor.

Actually, it would be siginficantly easier to just hit the "close thread" button. Nine times out of 10, the thread with an ambiguous subject line is one that has been covered many times before...

Retitling is an option, but as the rest of the mods know, editing opens up a huge can of works. 5 people will thank you, then 5 more will PM you and **** and moan as if you somehow mortally offended them...

I agree with Aaron.......some of these meaningless or repetitive threads should just be closed or deleted altogether.

Admins.....let somebody **** and moan about their thread being deleted. Reply to them with a "canned" message with details on how their message should be posted with a detailed title, grammar that can be understood, give them instructions on how to do a search, and if they keep coming back to you and bitching about it....then BAN THEM!

Seems a lot easier said that done huh?

This forum would be much easier to find what you are looking for and pleasant to read if we did not have to wade through all of the crap posts.

People take moderation personally....they shouldn't.

Anyway, this thread should technically be in "Suggestions", but I think all the mods agree that it's kind of important, so it's probably not going to be moved. Just don't drag it into something it isn't. Moderation concerns should still be taken care of via PM with the mod or in the Suggestions forum.

well as a newbie, im hearing most of you on this thread, but here's my 2 cents:

After browsing this forum for a while, Im not proclaiming to know everything about rotaries, but Im pretty mechanically inclined. There are a handful of you regulars that I hold with the upmost respect, seriously, your knowledge and input is well appreciated. But lets face it, there will always be newbies, and like neptuneRX said, there is only so much you can talk about regarding one kind of car. Yes I use the search function, and hopefully I don't **** you all off when I ask about something I cant find. BTW Ted, yer website kicks ***!

:: smacks self :: don't know why I didn't think about that, that'll help a lot in future searches!

I think the mods are working too hard!
Damn, you guys are retitling threads!
No wonder I quit!
Seriously, I think you guys need to be paid...I think the Forums are getting a lot of money through donations, and it doesn't seem to be helping with website speed.

I'm a noob myself (well technically I am but I feel like I've been here a while ) but I know what you guys are talking about. I know that if I see threads like that I skip over them cause they look boring, but eventually I go back and read them, and they do turn out interesting sometimes, and sometimes they have valid questions! But they would get so many more hits if their thread title reflected the actual question!

Anyway, this forum is the overall best that I've been too, out of other 7 forums and DSM forums. It's very busy, like if I post a reply, somebody usually got another one in a different thread before I get back to the 2ND gen page (like the thread I posted in isn't even at the top anymore)! This keeps it interesting. Have you ever been to a forum where there is like one post every 10 minutes? It SUCKS! You can read every damn thread in 30 minutes and it gets very boring. At least here you always have new material to read/help out. And also there isn't too many ricers. It may seem like it at times, but people who think there are a lot of ricers here are spoiled . I've been to a couple forums (not gonna name any names ) where everything was covered with posts like "my neon lights dont work" and "how can I make that pshhh sound on my NA" (yes the ricer was referring to a BOV ), it gets very boring after a while, and quite sickening. No intelligent conversation! And no it wasn't a honda forum, actually a DSM forum . Another DSM forum I frequented the most before coming here was DSMTuners. That was a good forum but I really like this one a lot better in general. It feels like people are too damn serious there! Sure people get their questions answered (usually) but it wasn't fun to read like it is here. Maybe thats why I have ~330 posts in one month of being here, but only around 100 after 5 months of being there (I only really went on maybe 10 min a day there but here I'd say about 2 hours total a day - its just more fun here). Well enough ranting and ****, I should go to bed but I think im gonna go help a couple more n00bs before bed! Later! BTW mods keep up the great work!
