personally i'm getting tired of people posting duplicate threads. i.e.-s4 vs s5 afm which one is better?-we all know s5 is better. and premixing-how many thread can you have on the pros/cons of pre-mixing? there are some other things, but that's all i have for now. instead of posting duplicates like these, use the archives and search instead of asking ?s we have heard 100s of times before. i know some of these threads are from newbies who don't know any better, but i see some of this stuff coming from people that have been members for a couple years or more.
well there is only so much you can talk about regarding one kinda of car. Specially a small window of 87-91. Frankly I think pretty much everything has been explored... dunno. I like hearing ideas that I wouldn't have thought about. And ways around problems. But I would agree that some of the subject as kinda vague.
I think Mr RETed. jumped my *** once befor on some subjuct matter, That's good to let are feelings out, it helped me to pull my head out then it fell rite back in, the fresh air was more then I could handle.
Trending Topics
Thois forum is pretty bad, it's a damn soap opera betwen people not reading the FAQ/rules, ****'s biting there heads off for not searching, and just general crap. It hasn't changed in a years, it's been getting worse.
This thread is an example... (though it hasn't gotten bad yet.. but give it a few hours..) and I dont' think will end very positively because lots of people are going to jump in some crazy stuff, and get evreyone else all riled up. I'm stayin out now.

Another problem I think people have, (not that ive been around long or anything) is they search, then don't read through the whole thread if the problem described is not EXACT to what they are asking...
At least I have found my answers plenty of times searching for key words then reading through an entire threads and finding the answers in the users responses even if the problem issn't exactly the same as mine. You guys definately know your stuff.
So do yourselves a favor and spend some time reading up and learning about these rotary powered cars your driving. That way these know it alls can catch up on their sleep.

this forum isn't bad at all, not everyone is going to agree with everyone, and frankly I don't know why people get so upset with other people's post. I think most rx7 owners are pretty intelligent, and that being I would think most would be able to find better ways of rebuting opposing post. Plus, life it too short to get bent out of shape about a damn post. This site has a ton of great info. I've learned more about rx7s sense I've joined this site then I ever did from books. Frankly someone should compile the archive into the RX7 Bible.
one of the other forums i frequent has a 3 day reading period, where new members can only read not post in threads, except in a specific thread where the noobs post. that gives them time to read the things they have questions about. maybe you guys should try this but make the wait 7 days.
i mean this pisses me off to no extent too, it's not that hard to search, if your still lost post a message that shows you have some understanding of the problem.

However, there are still some questions I have that may appear "simple" to some, but I always try and search first (which doesn't always work, everytime I try to search for something with S4 in it, it won't let me etc. etc.).
So I appreciate those veterans/tech guys who are patient and realize we were all n00bs once. I'm sure there's things I know that to me are common and mundane and I'm tired of hearing that others don't know yet, but I'd still "share the love"
This is really a lounge thread, but I will let it stay for now as it is very 2nd gen technical section oriented.
And Ted, you can do what I do with those lame titles/threads, just ignore them until you have some spare time to even bother to read them.

Yes, apologies for the non-2nd gen technical nature of the posts, but the examples are specific to this section.
Since there is little chance this section will be separated into turbo and non-turbo sub-sections (I'm actually against it, as a lot of the info covers both models), there is a lot of non-turbo questions I don't have enough experience to answer correctly; no, I have never professed to be a non-turbo expert. My expertise is with the turbo FC, so I tend to concentrate on those posts. I can't even count the number of threads I've clicked on and found out I was not qualified to answer. You need to understand that I spend an average of *2 hours* a day on just this forum to answer questions and hopefully help people. I guess this just comes down to frustration on my part.
On top of everything else, there seems to be a trend with people DEMANDING their queries be answered. People, we are not getting paid to do this, and any help you get you should be GRATIFIED.
If potential posters could do everyone of us a favor and put up a little more detailed description in the subject line, I think this forum section would move along a lot more efficiently - I guess that's the bottom line I wanted to make when I started this thread.

I agree with Ted. Surely it's not that hard to stick a few coherant words in the title that actually relate to the subject. Some of us spend a lot of out time here helping other people just because we like to. Not having to look into a thread just to figure out what the hell it's about would make that a lot eaasier and less frustrating.
This is not a big deal. I can't see why anyone would think this is an unreasonable request.
I think my frustration as being new to the forums is that I have tried to find explanations of the things I needed help with, but couldn't find them. I read whole threads, but still couldn't find the answers I needed. And I KNOW how to search, usually. <sarcasm>Heck, I have a college course solely about how to maximize search results. </sarcasm> The scary part? That's actually true. Heh.
I have, at least, made a concerted effort for my subject lines to be obvious as to what the thread was related to.
Since I may as well do it here, thanks to all the folks who have helped me so far. I hope to be able to pay you back by helping other newbies to come.

Also, for searching purposes, it may help when describing your question/problem by using full terms, such as "Series 5" or "Series 4" as opposed to two-letter "S5" descriptors that can't be used in searches.

If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific.
^^
Gets returned when searching for "Series 5"...it's a pain yes...
I've always been pretty descriptive on threads I make...nothing like "oh my god!! wtfmanboobsw/bbq"
I predict that this thread is but a grain of sand on the beach and will be lost among the other grains of sand on the beach and have absolutly no effect on future posts on this site. Similar to pissing in the wind. Same effect.
